OPEN Phys Ed Expands With an Updated Website

OPEN Phys Ed is a resource that I’ve highlighted a bunch of times over the years. It’s the website I’d be visiting every week if I was a physical education teacher. In fact, I like it so much I wore their t-shirt in my latest video about Strava

This morning I got an email from them in which they announced their newly updated and expanded website.

The latest version of OPEN Phys Ed includes a new student-led program called Roundnet. Roundnet is a complete program designed to be used in high schools. In the program students are divided into six teams to compete in a wide variety of games that all students can participate in regardless of their athletic inclination. The ultimate goal of the program is to help students develop leadership skills and reinforce responsible behaviors. Complete instructions and supporting handouts are provided for all of the activities.
The Believe in You empowerment program has also been expanded in the latest version of OPEN Phys Ed. This is a program for all K-12 students. It is focused on SEL in the context of physical education. I wrote a bit more about it back in April
